M/V Bahia Blanca (SIJX)
Built new at Lindholmens Shipyard in Gothenburg as hull number 1081. She was delivered in April, 1964. Bahia Blanca was equipped with four 12-cyl. Pielstick engine 12 PC 1V delivering 12.000 i.h.p. (8.825 kW) at 425 r.p.m. with a bore on 400 mm. and stroke on 460 mm. She was lengthening in 1968 and rebuilt for containers. After the rebuilding she takes 60 TEU under deck and 61 TEU on deck and 24 TEU on the aft deck. Sold to Fastighetsbolaget Rugo in Gothenburg 1984. 1985 sold to Rubin Shipping in Stockholm and renamed to Bahia. 1985 sold to Malta. Sold for scrapping and renamed to Chimera, she arrived at Chittagong Shipbreakers Ltd., Chittagong, Bangladesh 30 October 1985 for dismantling. She weighed from the beginning 8.980 Dw.ton and after lengthening she weighed 12.240 Dw.ton she had a speed at 21 knots. Bahia Blanca´s first commander was G. A. Hartzell and chief engineer Åke Länström.
