M/V Brasilia (SLZD)

Built new at Lindholmens Shipyard in Gothenburg as hull number 1057. She was delivered in December 1961. Brasilia was equipped with four 12-cyl. Pielstick engine 12 PC 1V at 12.000 i.h.p. (8.825 kW) at 425 r.p.m. with a bore on 400 mm. and stroke on 460 mm. She was lengthening in 1968 and rebuilt for containers. After the rebuilding she takes 60 TEU under deck and 61 TEU on deck and 24 TEU on the aft deck. Sold to Sphere Shipping Ltd, Gibraltar in 1983. She was renamed to Bra. Sold for scrapping, she arrived at China National Metals & Minerals Imp., Shanghai, China 30 March 1984 for dismantling. She weighed from the beginning  8.980 Dw.ton and after lengthening she weighed 12.240 Dw.ton she had a speed at 21 knots. Brasilia´s first commander was G. Dahlquist and chief engineer T.G. Johansson.
