M/V Hood River Valley (SEJN)

Built new at Blom & Woss Shipyard in Germany as hull number 836. She was delivered in February 1964. She was equipped with one 8 - cylinder two - stroke single-acting MAN - diesel K8Z 70/120D on  9600 i.h.p. She was sold in April 1971 to the Greek ship-owner  Afromar Inc. and registered in Monrovia  renamed to Asteri. On passage from  Hodeidah   - Davao she run aground  on January 24, 1982 near Balabac Island at pos. 07 ° 51`55"N and 116 ° 53`55"E she was refloated with tug on February 27, 1982 and she continue the voyage to Davao for reparation. Sold for scrapping, she arrived at BUX Ltd., Seikh Miran Bux, Gadani Beach, Pakistan 27 June 1985 for dismantling. She weighed  6000 Dw.tons and had a speed at 19,5 knots. Hood River Valleys first commander was T. Johansson and chief engineer S. Å. Jansson.
