M/V Montevideo (SDGT)
Built new at Lindholmens Shipyard in Gothenburg as hull number 1054. She was delivered in 1957. Buenos Aires was equipped with four 12-cyl. Pielstick engine 12 PC 1V on 12.000 i.h.p. (8.825 kW) at 425 r.p.m. with a bore on 400 mm. and stroke on 460 mm. She was lengthening in 1968 and rebuilt for containers. After the rebuilding she takes 60 TEU under deck and 61 TEU on deck and 24 TEU on the aft deck. Sold to Steep Rock Shipping Corp. Monrovia in 1981 and renamed to Rock. Sold for scrapping and renamed to Rush, she arrived at Shree Saibaba Shipbreaking Co, Port Alang, India 5 February 1988 for dismantling. She weighed from the beginning 8.980 Dw.ton and after lengthening she weighed 12.240 Dw.ton, she had a speed at 21 knots. Montevideo's first commander was G. Dahlquist and chief engineer S.V. Klang.
