M/V Star Alcyone II

Built at AG Weser Seebeck in Bremerhaven, Germany, as new construction, hull number  921 for Cherry Herring Line in Kopenhaven as Herring Lotte. She was launched 1 January 1967 and delivered 1 April 1967. She was equipped with one Burmeister & Wain/ Krupp 7-74VT2BF-160 delivering 7.722 kW. at 115 rpm. She was purchased by Compania Navigera de Paloma  22 October 1971. Resold 25 June 1974 to TTM, Mexico (Transportacion Maritima Mexicana SA de CV) and renamed to Amparo and registered in Panama. 1 July 1979 transfered to TMM, Mexico and renamed to Merida with Mexican flag. 25 October 1980 in collision with the LPG tanker Birgitta Montanari while berthing at Leghorn on voyage from Barcelorna to Veracruz. Final dispostion, sold for scrapping, arrived at Nan Ho Steel & Enterprise Co.,Kaohsiung, Taiwan 1 September 1986 for dismantling. The scrapping commenced 15 September 1986.
