M/S Suecia 3 (SGMT)

Built at Wärtsiläs Åbo Shipyard as newbuilding 1194 for Nata & Co Handelsbolag AB. She was keel laid in  December 1, 1970 and launched in May 1, 1971 and delivered in October 1, 1971. She was sold to Benenden Shipping Ltd, Monrovia in January 7, 1979 and renamed to Pacific Forester. In July 7, 1981 sold to Seaboard Shipping Co., Canada and renamed to Kemano. In January 7, 1987 sold to Naess Shipping., Holland and registered in Hong Kong and renamed to  Kemano Saga. Under a squall in Tilbury in October 16, 1987 she get some damage then she get on the Russian containership Simon Bolivar, and after reparation of the damage she depart to Japanese harbours. 1987 sold to Taiwan to be scrapped, she arrived Kaohsiung in January 18, 1988 but things didn´t quite happen that way and the ship was sold to Comtramar-Companiha de Transportes Maritimos Ltda, Lisbon and she was renamed to Saga C.  In  June 1, 1991 sold to Icepearl Shipping Co, Limassol, Cyprus and renamed to Icepearl. She was equipped with two 4 - stroke singelaction 16 cylinder Wärtsiläbuilt Pielstick engine 16PC2-V400 with an effect at 16000 i.h.p. at 500 rpm. The two engines was coupled via one STAL Laval - gear to one KaMeWa - propeller. Fuel consumption at 16 knots speed was 61 tons/24h. She was on 30000 tons d.w. and she had a speed on 16,5 knots. Her actual signalletters is  P3AU4. Suecia's first commander was B.Grönwall and chiefengineer S.B.Lindström.
