Built at Kockums Shipyard, Malmö as new
construction, hull number 345 for a price at 7,75 million SEK. She was delivered
in October 1949. She was sold January 2, 1950 to the Brazilian oil company
Petrobras for 11 million SEK. and renamed to Presidente
Dutra. 1959 renamed to Anchieta. 1967 sold to Spanish scrappers and she was towed to
Santander in Spain to be scrapped. She weighed 16300 Dw.tons and had a speed at
13 knots. Venus was equipped with one 2 - stroke double-action 6 - cylinder
Kockum MAN D6Z72/120 diesel engine delivering 6000 i.h.p. Venus first commander
was A. Nordenberg and chief engineer B. G. A. Håkansson.
